The City of Douglas and Coffee County would like to give thanks to the Almighty for protecting us once again and not allowing the expected/predicted damages to come to fruition. Citizens of Coffee County should be thankful for living in a community in which all agencies work EXTREMELY well together.
The City would like to thanks its employees, county employees, Satilla EMC’s employees, and all others for working extremely hard to minimize the impacts of the Hurricane. A BIG thanks to our shelter workers: Recreation staff along with volunteers – Emily Courson, JoAnne Lewis, Jerome Loving, Commissioner Cindy McNeill, Richard Warford, Julie Anderson, and Jeanmarie Smith. The City of Douglas would like give a SPECIAL THANKS to Daniel Maley with Danny's Pizza and Willis’ Ag Diesel for providing Danny's Pizza and hot wings for everyone in the shelter operations. The City of Douglas gives a big shout out to David Varnedore David's Auto Sales and The Covered Wagon for feeding the Coffee County Ga Sheriff's Office, Coffee County Fire Department, Douglas GA Fire Department, Douglas GA Police Department, EMS, and linemen. And thank you to countless others who worked at other locations and behind the scenes.
