The Keep Douglas Beautiful Committee is excited to announce their first community book drive aimed at filling the new Little Libraries that will be installed in neighborhood parks at Eastside Park, Wheeler Park, Madison Ave Park, and Emma Ward Park. With a mission to promote literacy and foster a sense of community, this initiative seeks to collect a diverse range of books for readers of all ages and interests. Little Libraries have become cherished fixtures in communities, providing free access to books and encouraging a lifelong love of reading.

“We are excited to be a part of this new initiative,” says Christian Mikell, Keep Douglas Beautiful’s Executive Director. “We need support from the community through donations and lots of participation by utilizing the little libraries.”

The community is encouraged to help Little Libraries succeed by donating gently used books suitable for readers of all ages, from children to adults. Fiction, non-fiction, and children's books are all welcome contributions. For those who wish to contribute financially, Keep Douglas Beautiful is accepting monetary donations to purchase new and diverse books to supplement the Little Libraries. Volunteers are needed to organize and distribute books to Little Libraries and also to help with maintenance and beautification efforts to keep these literary gems shining in our neighborhoods.
