NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC - DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS ENTERPRISE (DBE) GOAL FOR THE DOUGLAS MUNICIPAL GENE CHAMBERS AIRPORT - DOUGLAS, GA
The City of Douglas hereby gives notice and announces a proposed triennial overall goal for its Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program for federal fiscal years (FFY) 2024-2026. The proposed DBE goal is 8.80% for all Airport Improvement Program (AIP)-funded projects at Douglas Municipal Gene Chambers Airport from October 1, 2023, to September 30, 2026. The methodology used in developing the goal is available for inspection during normal business hours at the administrative office of the Community Development Director, City of Douglas, 302 S. Madison Avenue, Douglas, GA 31533. The City will receive and consider public comments on the proposed goal until January 26, 2024. Comments may be submitted to the City at the above address, or at ghenderson@cityofdouglasga.gov.

GDOT Aviation Releases Video that Features the Economic Impact of Local Airports and Douglas Municipal Airport
The Georgia Department of Transportation Aviation Services conducted a Georgia Statewide Airport Economic Impact Study in 2019 and recently released a video entitled Georgia Airports Mean Business. Douglas Municipal Gene Chambers Airport is featured as one of the 103 local airports, which contribute $73.7 billion in annual economic benefit to the state and support 450,500 jobs with a total annual payroll estimated at $20 billion.
