The City of Douglas and Douglas-Coffee County Parks and Recreation invite everyone to come out and celebrate the Grand Opening of the Premier Sports Athletic Complex on Saturday, March 12, 2022 beginning at 9:30AM.  Special guest Kansas City Chiefs Wide Receiver, Tyreek Hill, will throw out the first pitch.

"What begin as a vision years ago has come to fruition,” says Mayor Tony Paulk.  “I am so excited to see the youth of Douglas and Coffee County be the first to play at OUR phenomenal youth athletic park!”

Scheduled for the grand opening will be a ribbon cutting at 9:30AM, followed by the first pitch being thrown by Tyreek Hill to start the youth baseball/softball games at 10AM. Games are expected to last all day. Free hotdogs and Coca-Cola drinks will be provided while supplies last.

Construction of the youth sports complex began in October 2020 and was completed in January 2022.  The Premier Sports Athletic Complex consists of 4 baseball/softball fields, 3 football/soccer fields, 3 concession stands, batting cages, a small playground area, and parking. Reservations are now being taken for tournament play.  For more information, contact the Parks and Recreation Department at 912-384-5978.
