The City of Douglas has been awarded a Community Block Development Grant from the Georgia Department of Community Affairs in the amount of $636,875. The City of Douglas plans to use the CDBG funds to address substandard housing conditions in the city. The project will rehabilitate 12 owner-occupied substandard housing units in the City’s Urban Redevelopment Plan and new Revitalization Area Strategy area. This project is expected to benefit 18 persons, of whom 18 (100%) households are low to moderate income in the “Mill Quarters” area of Douglas. The total project cost is $657,669, with $20,794 in match and leverage.
