[ARCHIVED] MAYOR AND COMMISSION PROCLAIM APRIL AS NATIONAL DONATE LIFE MONTH

4-11-2022 (3)

In support of Lifelink of Georgia, the City of Douglas Mayor and Commission proclaimed April as National Donate Life Month in Douglas to honor all those who made the decision to give the gift of life. The purpose of National Donate Life Month is to focus attention on the extreme need for organ, eye and tissue donation and to encourage residents to take action and sign up on Georgia’s Donor Registry at www.donatelifegeorgia.org.  A local citizen, Mark Lott, recently received a kidney donation from a Moultrie citizen, Heather Bryant.  Mr. Lott and his wife, Michelle, were in attendance at the City Commission meeting for the proclamation and accepted a City of Douglas Hometown Hero plaque, on behalf of Ms. Bryant, for her selfless donation of a kidney to Mr. Lott.  Pictured (L-R) Michelle Lott, Mark Lott, and Mayor Tony Paulk.
