The Douglas-Coffee County Planning Commission has received an application to rezone 17.684 acres, including a 5.50-acre lake at the NW corner of SE Bowens Mill Road and Old Bell Lake Road, from Residential Mixed (R-M) to General Commercial (G-C). The applicant wishes to rezone to General Commercial in hopes of using the land for a General Commercial business.
The Planning Commission will have a regular meeting regarding this request on May 19, 2022, at 6:00 p.m. at the Ashley-Slater House, located at 211 South Gaskin Avenue Douglas, GA 31533. If the request is approved by the Planning Commission, the recommendation for approval of the rezoning will go before the City Commission. The City Commission will hold the first public hearing for this request on Monday, May 23, 2022, at 6:00 p.m. at the CE Weir Center located at 307 E. Bryan Street. The second public hearing of the request will be held on Monday, June 13, 2022, at 6:00 pm at the CE Weir Center located at 307 E. Bryan Street. Both hearings will be held at the C.E. Weir Center, 307 East Bryan Street Douglas, GA 31533.
