Mayor Tony Paulk has issued a proclamation declaring May 3–9, 2026, as the International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC) 57th Professional Municipal Clerks Week. The Proclamation extends appreciation to all Municipal and Deputy Clerks for the services with which they provide their communities. Specifically, the Proclamation cites that the Clerk "serves as the professional link between the citizens, the local governing bodies and agencies of government at other levels."

The Douglas City Clerk plays a key role in the city’s operations as the professional link between the citizens, the local governing bodies and government agencies at other levels. As the official record keeper, the Clerk manages all open records requests and provides support to the Mayor, City Commission, City Manager, and various administrative departments. 

“Wynetta Bolder, our City Clerk, is an essential part of city government,” said Mayor Tony Paulk. “Her department carries broad responsibilities and is truly an important asset to the City of Douglas.”

City Clerk Bolder is originally from Jacksonville, Florida and graduated from William M. Raines Senior High School in 1982. She has dedicated 27 years to serving the citizens of Douglas, beginning as a Customer Service Billing Clerk and advancing to City Clerk and then Customer Service Director. She coordinates the Mayor’s Youth Council and the Douglas-Coffee County Teen Court, supporting youth leadership development. Mrs. Bolder also serves on the Satilla Advocacy Services Board, the Family Connection Coffee County Coalition, and the Coffee County PSED Advisory Board.

Mrs. Bolder holds certifications from the Georgia Records Association, Georgia Municipal Clerks Association, and the International Institute of Municipal Clerks. She served as President of the Georgia Municipal Clerks Association and as chair of both the Research and Resource Committee and the Public Relations and Marketing Committee for the International Institute of Municipal Clerks. She earned an AS in Business and a BS in Organizational Leadership from Columbia Southern University. Mrs. Bolder is an active member of Greater Destiny International Ministries, where she and her husband, Lamont Bolder, serve under Pastor Rueben and Lady Allyson Speight. Together they have six sons, three daughters, and three grandsons.
