The City of Douglas invites all current Douglas citizens to attend a Town Hall meeting, August 16, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. at the C.E. Weir Center. Your presence is essential to make the event a success. Elected officials will be present, seeking citizen input about improvements for our community and quality of life. The main topics to be discussed will be the proposed annexation plan and the affect of annexation on the current citizens of Douglas.
“It is essential that we have input from our citizens as we grow and change as a community,” says City Manager Terrell Jacobs. “We also want to raise awareness of our programs and services as well as receive valuable input from our citizens regarding those services. At this Town Hall meeting, we need to hear, from our current citizens, any questions regarding the proposed annexation plan and timeline. At a later date, we plan to have at least 5-6 informational meetings, for individuals in the proposed areas of consideration, to voice their concerns about the proposed Annexation. ”
