[ARCHIVED] KEEP DOUGLAS BEAUTIFUL EARNS CERTIFICATION FROM KEEP AMERICA BEAUTIFUL

Certification 2-8-2022 (10)

The City of Douglas has joined hundreds of other cities and communities throughout the United States by becoming a certified Keep America Beautiful (KAB) Affiliate.  Mallory Coffey (KAB Regional Director) and Natalie Johnston-Russell (Keep Georgia Beautiful Foundation) held a training session with Keep Douglas Beautiful (KDB) committee members and city officials on Tuesday, February 7, 2022.  Afterwards, the committee was officially recognized as a Keep America Beautiful affiliate.

By taking on this venture, the KDB committee hopes to promote environmental sustainability and educate the community to take action every day to increase safety, reduce litter from open spaces and waterways, improve recycling efforts, and keep Douglas beautiful.  KDB members are in the process of planning several clean-up activities beginning with the Great American Cleanup that is scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 30, 2022.

Volunteers are still needed with the Keep Douglas Beautiful Committee.  Please contact Christian Burkett at cmikell@cityofdouglas.com or call 912-383-0277, to learn how YOU can help Keep Douglas Beautiful!
