Public Hearing: Certificate Of Appropriateness for 323 S. Peterson Avenue (Parcel Number D013 132)

The Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) of Douglas has received a Certificate of Appropriateness (COA) application for 323 S. Peterson Avenue, Douglas, Georgia, Parcel Number D013 132. This area is located in the Downtown Douglas Historic District. The applicant seeks to update existing windows, add awnings, update storefront glass, paint the rear brick, add windows, update doors, and add two apartments above the commercial property. 

Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held to review the submitted COA by the HPC at their monthly meeting on November 18, 2025, at 4 p.m., at City Hall, located at 302 S. Madison Ave., Douglas, GA 31533.

The applications can be reviewed at the City of Douglas Community Development Department, Planning & Zoning Division, 302 S. Madison Ave., Douglas, GA 31533, between 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. (EST), Monday through Friday. Holiday hours may differ. Requests for reviews of the application may be made until November 18, 2025, prior to 4:00 p.m.
