[ARCHIVED] FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS CHRISTMAS PARADE REGISTRATION CONTINUES

Registration continues for the 50th Annual Festival of Lights Christmas Parade through Friday, December 6, 2013. The parade theme is “Celebrating the Golden Years.” On Saturday, December 7th, festivities will begin at 6:00pm with the Annual 5K Run along the parade route. The Annual Festival of Lights Parade will light up Peterson Avenue at 6:30pm and make its way from the Courthouse to the Alternative Education Center (formerly the Pre-K Academy).

“Registration is underway and we hope to see more entries as we celebrate the 50th Anniversary,” says Georgia Henderson, Public Information Officer. “The 50th anniversary of this parade is a great achievement for our community and we encourage entries to focus building their floats using the Golden theme.”

Registration forms and rules can be picked up at the Public Information Department office located at Central Square Complex. For more information about the Festival of Lights Christmas Parade, please call (912) 383-0277, visit our website at www.cityofdouglas.com, or email info@cityofdouglas.com.
