The City of Douglas is encouraging neighborhoods to participate in the City of Douglas N.I.P. Christmas Home Decorating Contest. N.I.P. is the City’s Neighborhood Involvement Program. In order to participate, residents must live inside the city limits. This contest will be judged on the creativity and splendor of holiday décor on the home exterior. Previous winners will not be eligible to participate for three years.
In order to participate in the N.I.P. Christmas Home Decorating Contest, home owners must sign up by December 13th . Decorations must be up by the night of December 17th in order to give voters time to drive through participating neighborhoods and cast their votes. The winners will be determined by a judging panel as well as by online and call-in votes. The winners will be notified shortly afterward and recognized at the last City Commission Meeting in December. At the meeting, the winners will be presented with a gift and a Certificate of Participation.
