The City of Douglas will host Satilla REMC’s 77th Annual meeting on October 7, 2014 in downtown Douglas at Central Square Complex from 10:00am-2:00pm. This annual meeting will bring approximately 2,000 visitors to our wonderful town. City officials have worked with the Satilla Management team to develop plans to help with traffic and the pedestrian flow downtown. As always with any large event, officials are asking citizens to be patient and know that there will be some parking challenges with this large meeting in downtown. Extra public safety will be in place to help with these challenges.
“We are asking that citizens be prepared for the heavy traffic and to be more cautious as they make their way through the downtown area on October 7th,” says Mayor James H. Dennis. “We need to display our best hospitality and make sure we welcome these visitors to our town.
