[ARCHIVED] CITY OF DOUGLAS AND ESG OPERATIONS TO PARTICIPATE IN RIVERS ALIVE CLEANUP

The City of Douglas and ESG Operations are joining the Satilla Riverkeeper & Friends for a Rivers Alive cleanup on Saturday, November 14 9:00am-11:30am at Westside Creek located at 305 West Ward Street in Douglas. Citizens are invited to participate in the creek cleanup.

The Satilla River Cleanup is being held in several communities in South Georgia. The Satilla River Cleanup is in support of the Rivers Alive program. Rivers Alive is Georgia’s annual volunteer waterway cleanup event that targets all waterways in the State which includes streams, rivers, lakes, beaches and wetlands. The mission of Rivers Alive is to create awareness of and involvement in the preservation of Georgia’s water resources.

Volunteers should wear clothing and shoes that can get dirty and whatever supplies they may need. Volunteers will receive Rivers Alive volunteer t-shirts and a free lunch is provided at GA 121 Landing, GA 121 bridge between Hoboken and Blackshear, Georgia. Registration is required.
