[ARCHIVED] LIVE CHRISTMAS TREE RECYCLING PROGRAM TO BEGIN JANUARY 3, 2012

The City of Douglas Public Works Department will be recycling used live Christmas Trees beginning January 3, 2012. The program will continue through January 13, 2012 so that everyone will have an opportunity to bring by his or her Christmas tree. Mulch from these trees is used for beautification and environmental projects in the local community.

“We look at the Christmas Tree Recycling program as a way to both serve our community and do something good for the environment,” says Public Works Director Jacob Lott. “I hope that everyone takes advantage of this opportunity.”
