The City of Douglas is considering applying to the Georgia Department of Community Affairs for the designation of a Revitalization Area Strategy (RAS) within the City’s Urban Redevelopment Area.
The Revitalization Area Strategies designation provides incentives to communities who implement comprehensive redevelopment activities for targeted areas in their city or county. The program rewards innovative local strategies and a commitment to redevelop a targeted area with a comprehensive, collaborative approach that includes public and private partners. More specific details regarding the RAS program will be provided at a public hearing, which will be held at 10:00 A.M. on April 23. 2021, at the Douglas Teen Center, Central Square Complex, 200-G Madison Avenue, South, Douglas, Georgia, 31533.
The purpose of this hearing will be to obtain citizen input into the development of the RAS application.
