[ARCHIVED] PREMIER SPORTS ATHLETIC COMPLEX GRAND OPENING WILL BE MARCH 12

The City of Douglas and Douglas-Coffee County Parks and Recreation invite everyone to come out and celebrate the Grand Opening of the Premier Sports Athletic Complex on Saturday, March 12, 2022 beginning at 9:30AM.  Previously, it was announced that Tyreek Hill would throw out the first pitch however, unfortunately, due to unforeseen scheduling conflict, Tyreek Hill will not be present at the Grand Opening. 

According to a representative for Mr. Hill, “Due to an oversight of a scheduling conflict, Mr. Hill will not be able to appear at the grand opening of the City of Douglas’ Sports Complex. His commitment to his team, teammates and South Georgia are of utmost importance to him. Mr. Hill sends his love, support and gratitude for this opportunity and says that he will be home soon.”

Scheduled for the grand opening will be a ribbon cutting at 9:30AM, followed by youth baseball/softball games at 10AM. Games are expected to last all day. Free hotdogs and Coca-Cola drinks will be provided while supplies last.

Construction of the youth sports complex began in October 2020 and was completed in January 2022.  The Premier Sports Athletic Complex consists of 4 baseball/softball fields, 3 football/soccer fields, 3 concession stands, batting cages, a small playground area, and parking.
