[ARCHIVED] SLOGAN CONTEST FOR RESIDENTS OF DOUGLAS!

If you live in Douglas and can sum up what Douglas means to all the citizens, then we need you to create a new slogan or nickname to brand Douglas throughout Georgia! The City of Douglas is conducting a slogan contest and wants to see your ideas that capture the essence of our city.

“For years, our slogan has been Working Together to Serve You Better,” says Terrell Jacobs, City Manager. “Douglas is known for having a strong community spirit, a variety of outdoor and recreational opportunities, as being rich in agriculture and is perceived by many as being friendly, neighborly, and welcoming. Our slogan should reflectively capture that spirit and vitality of our great community.”

The slogan contest is open to anyone who lives inside the city limits of Douglas, and who are 18 years of age or older. Each person can only submit one entry. Entry must include a 25 -250 word essay explaining the merits of your slogan. All entries must be submitted electronically or postmarked by 5pm on Friday, July 27, 2012 for consideration. All or any part of the slogans submitted will become the property of the City of Douglas to be used for other purposes without credit to the author. City of Douglas employees and their immediate families are not eligible to participate. The City of Douglas will have the right not use any slogan submitted and retain the current slogan, but, if a final slogan is chosen, the winner will be selected by a committee and shall win a cash prize of $100. As a bonus feature, if the submittal contains artwork, the participant may receive an additional $100 for the graphic poster or artwork that accompanies the slogan.
