The Douglas-Coffee County Planning Commission has received an application to rezone three (3) separate parcels totaling 1.55 acres (0.50, 0.58, 0.47), from Residential (R-15), to Gateway (G-W). The parcels are located off of Rose Lane & State Route 32. The applicant wishes to rezone to G-W to have synonymous zoning for all contiguous properties owned and to operate businesses permitted in such zone. The Planning Commission will have their regular meeting regarding this request on March 21, 2024 at 6:00 p.m., at City Hall, located at 302 S Madison Avenue Douglas, GA 31533. The outcome of the Planning Commission’s recommendation(s) will go before the Mayor & City Commission. The Mayor & City Commission will hold the first (1st) reading for this request on Monday, March 25, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. and the second (2nd) reading and public hearing will be held on Monday, April 8, 2024 at 6:00 pm. A copy of the rezoning application may be reviewed at the City of Douglas Community Development Department, Planning Division, 302 S Madison Avenue Douglas, GA 31533, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Holiday hours may differ. This viewing may take place until March 25, 2024.
