[ARCHIVED] SOUTH GEORGIA OUTDOOR EXPO

The South Georgia Outdoor Expo will be held at Central Square Complex in downtown Douglas, August 22, 2014 from 1pm-7pm and August 23, 2014 9am-5pm. Vendors will fill the grounds and both exhibit halls at Central Square Complex with items relating to outdoor apparel, hunting gear, ATVs, boats, hunting/camping trips, fishing accessories, and more specialty outdoor merchandise. Attendees will experience a two day event that is packed with major giveaways, live demonstrations, and fun activities for the entire family.
A Wild Game Supper will be held on Thursday, Aug. 21st with Retired US Army and Vietnam Veteran, Captain Tommy Clack as the guest speaker. Gopher Plantation will be serving venison, wild hog, quail and all the fixings that will surely satisfy any appetite! Tickets for the supper are $15 per person.
Don’t miss your chance to meet Butch “Running Bear” Moger and his Super Critter Getter Truck, who has appeared in several videos and is currently working on a reality show with Sharp Entertainment and the National Geographic Network. Kevin King’s Monster Truck “Strait Jacket”, will be on display Friday and on Saturday at 4pm, the truck will roar to life and CRUSH some cars! Meet and greet Harlem Legends, Michael “Memphis” Douglas and Larry “Shorty” Coleman on Friday from 2pm – 4pm and on Saturday from 10am – 2pm. On Friday at 4pm and Saturday at 11am & 3pm, Rocky Boots and Norris Shoe Store will present Steve Scruggs, Rocky Snake Master, "Snakes Alive" educational seminar.
The National Wild Turkey Federation will offer attendees to “aim and shoot” at their portable BB gun range. Stop by for photo opportunities with one of the WOW Whitetails King Collection Monster deer and marvel at the size of this deer collection. An archery education program will be offered by General Coffee State Park at various times during the two day show. Georgia Hunting and Fishing Federation will allow participants to “reel in” the big one with their fishing simulator. If hunting is more your hobby, be sure to stop at the Georgia DNR’s hunting simulator.
Bert Deener, Georgia DNR Fisheries Biologist, will offer a FREE workshop “Lakes, Bass, and Pan Fishing in Georgia”, on Saturday at 10am in the Dogwood meeting room. Clint Shipman, 3X Georgia State Duck Calling Champion will offer a FREE Duck Calling workshop, “Duck Hunting Basics”, on Saturday at 2pm in the Dogwood meeting room.
Attendees will also want to register for the $500 CASH jackpot drawing by Lasseter Implement! Satilla River Outdoors will be giving away a Hoyt Carbon Spyder Bow valued at $1,400.00. Other giveaways include 46” televisions, hunting trips, guns, gas cookers, rods, gift cards, survival kits, t-shirts and more!
