At the City Commission meeting on Monday, August 24, 2015, City leaders approved the revised Commercial Industrial Vehicle Ordinance after the second reading and public hearing before the Board of Commissioners regarding Bobtail trucks. The revised ordinance will allow owners/operators to park their Bobtail trucks on their property providing they can park the truck completely off the roadway and/or right of way of the road.
Owner/operators that park their Bobtail trucks on their property will do so without any damage to the roadway, sidewalks, curbing, gutters or any other city property. Owner/Operator will be liable for any damage to city property caused by the operation their vehicle under this section. Owner/operators that park their Bobtail trucks on their property within the City shall not perform any maintenance on the vehicle other than the washing of the vehicle. Owner/operators of vehicles located within the City shall not allow their vehicles to run while parked on their property, nor shall they utilize any radio system to create noise while parked in any residential are of the city.
