[ARCHIVED] CSX Annoucement from DOT Detour Coming - CSX Railroad to Perform Necessary Repair on US 221/SR 135

CSX Railroad crews will make necessary repairs on US 221/ State Route 135. Beginning on Monday, September 19, traffic will be detoured at 7 a.m. between Baker Highway (SR 158) and Ward Street (SR 32) in the city of Douglas. The detour will be in place until Friday, September 23 at 5 p.m., weather permitting..

Message boards and traffic control measures are in place to notify the public of the detour route. Traffic traveling North on SR 135 will turn left on US 441/SR 31 to SR 206 Connector (Bypass) where they will turn right. They will then turn left back on to US 221/SR 135 North. Detoured traffic wishing to go SR 32 East will turn right and follow US 221/SR 135 South to the traffic signal where they will turn left and then left again on to SR 32 East.

Traffic traveling North on US 221/US 441/SR 31 will continue on US 441/SR 31 to SR 206 Connector (Bypass) where they will turn right. They will then turn left back on to US 221/SR 135 North. Detoured traffic wishing to go SR 32 East will turn right and follow US 221/SR 135 South to the traffic signal where they will turn left and then left again on to SR 32 East.

As in any work zone, motorists are reminded to pay special attention to traffic control devices, signs and posted speed limits to ensure safe passage though the work zone for the workers present and the motorists traveling through.

Semi-trucks must follow established detour route unless making a local delivery.
