Georgia Initiative for Community Housing
The Georgia Initiative for Community Housing (“Initiative” or “GICH”) offers communities a three-year program of collaboration and technical assistance related to housing and community development. The objective of the Initiative is to help communities create and launch a locally based plan to meet their housing needs.

Douglas GICH Team Holds First Meeting of the New Year
The Douglas Team for the Georgia Initiative for Community Housing met at City Hall on January 24, 2024. Discussion included the Annual GICH Retreat, finalizing the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit Application and the timeline for the team to receive proposal requests from contractors, and applying to be a GICH Senior Community. Board member Joy Vickers (FNBCC Mortgage Officer) gave an overview of types of mortgage loans, appraisals, and FHA Guidelines.
